Declaration of Independence The principles on which our government, and our identity as Americans, are based.
Democracy Power and rule over people.
Stamp Act A tax put on American colonies by the British.
Intolerable Acts A punishment of 4 laws put on Massachusetts colonies by the British Parliament.
Boston Tea Party A protest by American colonists in 1773.
The Colonies Lands controlled by another country, like how the American colonies were controlled by Britain.
Popular Sovereignty People are the ultimate source of government authority and power.
