Declaration of Independence states the principles on which our government, and our identity as Americans, are based
Democracy control of an organization or group by the majority of its members.
Stamp act a tax put on the American colonies by the British in 1765
Intolerable Act a series of four laws passed by the British Parliament to punish the colony of Massachusetts Bay for the Boston Tea Party.
Boston Tea Party To protest British Parliament's tax on tea. "No taxation without representation." The demonstrators boarded the ships and threw the chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.
The Colonies The Thirteen Colonies were a group of British colonies on the Atlantic coast of North America during the 17th and 18th centuries.
