| Absolute Monarchy | ruled by a king, queen, or emperor who has unlimited power |
| Republic | a government in which the people elect representatives to vote on legislation |
| Parliamentary Democracy | a republic where the executive is elected by the legislature |
| Presidential Democracy | a republic in where the president is elected independently from the legislature |
| Dictatorship | Government controlled by a single leader |
| Constitution | System of basic rules and principles by which a government is organized |
| Government | Group of people who have the power to make and enforce laws for a country or area. |
| Autocracy | a system of government by one person with absolute power |
| Constitutional Monarchy | A form of national government in which the power of the monarch (the king or queen) is restrained by a parliament, by law, or by custom. |
