SS Bill of rights

TermDefinition
The 1st Amendment is Freedom of speech/expression, assembly, religion, press, and to petition the government
The 2nd Amendment is Gun rights
The 3rd Amendment is The government can't force citizens to let the soldiers live in their home.
The 4th Amendment is You need to have a good reason and a warrant for government officials to look through your stuff.
The 5th Amendment is Protects people accused of crimes.
The 6th Amendment is Goes into more detail about a trial and jury.
The 7th Amendment is Civil cases which are disputes between people or businesses not crimes.
The 8th Amendment is Protect people's rights to a fair and responsible punishment when they break the law. Punishments cannot be so harsh that they are unfair.
The 9th Amendment is Just because a right isn't listed in the Constitution doesn't mean citizens do not have the right.
The 10 Amendment is The limits on the government's power. The national government only has powers listed in the Constitution. All other powers belong to states or the people. This means in some cases, states can make laws that are right for their state.
