| Neutrality | a policy of non-involvement in wars or the affairs of other nations |
| Sedition | actions or speech intended to cause people to rebel |
| Doctrine | a policy or position held by a government |
| Embargo | ban on trade with another country |
| Alliance | an association created to further the common interests of the members |
| Intervention | interference by one country in another country's affairs |
| debt | money owed to another party, as a result of a loan |
| Domestic | related to issues internally, within a country |
| Abolition | The act of ending a practice (slavery) |
