What is the root word in abolition? Abolish
What does the word abolish mean? To formally put something to an end
What is a plantation? A very large farm or estate where crops are grown for sale.
What does the word break mean? To split something up, to damange something, to smash it, to make something not work anymore
What is the root word in breaker? Break.
What is a slave breaker? someone who hurts a slave so badly by beating them in order for them to be a "good" slave and not be rebellious. They hurt them so much that they always do what their master says.
What are the root words in overseer? Over and see.
What is an overseer? Someone who watches over slaves. The manager of the day to day activities of slaves. The overseer ensures that slaves do whatever they are told and often uses very physical punishment to make this happen.
