| Diffusion | The spread of intangible assets like religion, music ideas, or culture. |
| Silk Road | An important trade route that connected the ancient world. |
| Caravan | a group (as of merchants or pilgrims) traveling together on a long journey through desert or dangerous regions |
| Silent Barter | a method by which traders who cannot speak each other's language can trade without talking. (hand signals for trade) |
| Feudalism | a system of political organization (as in Europe during the Middle Ages) in which a vassal served a lord and received protection and land in return |
| Medieval | of, relating to, or characteristic of the Middle Ages |
| Lords | A person who has power and authority |
| Knights | a warrior of olden times who fought on horseback, served a king, held a special military rank, and swore to behave in a noble way |
| Vassals | a person in the Middle Ages who received protection and land from a lord in return for loyalty and service |
