TermDefinition
nullify To make something invalid or no longer legal and binding.
frontier A region just beyond or at the edge of a settled area.
preservation Keeping something the same or preventing it from being damaged.
gold rush A large population influx caused by a search for gold in the area.
remove To move or take away from somewhere or something.
Great Plains The broad, flat region that stretches between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains in North America.
relocate A move to a new place.
reservation A tract of public land set aside for indigenous Americans.
military service A person’s actions, sacrifices, and time spent serving in the armed forces.
nation A community of people composed of one or more nationalities; usually has its own territory and government.
tribe A group of families or clans that share the same language, customs, and beliefs.
