Reconquista the 800 year war of the Spanish removing the Moors from their land.

conquistadors leaders of the Spanish military that believed in war and conquest.
viceroyalty land is ruled by an official chosen by the king and queen.
bison buffalo; a main food source for Native American Indians; never seen by the Spanish.
shamans Native American Medicine Men that were viewed as healers, physics, and leaders.
Alonso Alvarez de Pineda led on the early Spanish expeditions in the Northern part of New Spain. He searched for a water route to the Pacific ocean. In 1519, he sailed along the of the Gulf of Mexico from Florida to Mexico and made first map of Texas.
Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca was one of the first Europeans to extensively explore the land that became Texas.
Cibola The rumored city of Gold that was thought to be located in the Arizona-New Mexico area.
