A New Nation and State

Amend To make minor changes in order to make something more fair, accurate, or up-to-date
Confederation An organization made up of a number of groups united together
Consent Permission or agreement
Federalism A principle or system in which power is divided between central (federal) and state government
Ratify To make a treaty, agreement, or law official by signing it or voting on it
Representative democracy A system of government in which all eligible citizens vote for representatives to pass laws for them
Unicameral Having a single legislative body or chamber
