as molecular weight increases so does the melting point, boiling point, and density. The heavier the molecule is the harder it should be for it to break away from others and enter the high energy gas phase
Branched molecules follow same trends, but have slightly lower boiling points than straight chain isomers. Branching reduces surface area of molecule available for interaction with other molecules
