Artifacts A tool, weapon, or other object left behind by early people(s); very antique.
Strait A narrow passage of water between two larger bodies of water

Nomads A person or people who moves from place to place to survive.
Sources A supply for a certain amount of objects.
Maize One of the many varieties of corn.
Carbon dating A kind of a scientific method of determining the age of an artifact.
Estimate A rough calculation of a number.
Cultures A people's shared values, beliefs, traditions, and behaviors.
Civilizations A highly developed society.
Complex Something that is highly detailed.
Theocracy A society that is ruled by religious leaders.
Hieroglyphics A form of writing that uses symbols or pictures to represent things, ideas, and sounds.

Irrigated To supply water to crops by artificial means.
Channels A long, narrow gutter or groove through which water can flow.
Pueblos A communal Native American structure with a flat roof; a type of Native American village.

Clans A group of people who have a common ancestor.
