Writ of assistance A court document that allows customs officers to enter any location to search for stolen stuff
Boycott The act of refusing to buy items in order to show disapproval or force change
Repeal To cancel an act of law
Petition A formal request
Rebellion A rejection of current laws and authority
Propaganda Information that's used to influence opinions
Loyalist An American colonist who remained loyal to Britain and was against America's independence
Committee of correspondence an organization that spread political ideas and information through the colonies
Minuteman A soldier who was ready to fight on a minute's notice
Preamble The introduction to a formal document that often tells why the document was written
