influence of Enlightenment thinkers on the document (i.e. how did Montesquieu impact the document, how did Locke impact the document, etc) Montesquieu’s idea of separation of powers influenced the structure of the government, while Locke’s ideas on natural rights and the social contract influenced the Bill of Rights.
fixes to the major flaws of the Articles of Confederation (i.e. equal votes no matter the pop size of state= equal reps in Senate + # of reps based on population in the House) The Constitution addressed the weaknesses of the Articles by creating a stronger federal government with the power to tax, regulate commerce (exchanging, buying, or selling things) and maintain a military.
