Cultures of North America

TermDefinition
culture The entire way of life of a people.
adobe Sun-dried brick.
pueblo A village of the pueblo Indians or Ancestral Puebloans, built of stone and adobe.
culture region A region in which people share a similar way of life.
tribe A community who share common customs, language, and rituals.
diffusion The spread of ideas from one culture to another.
potlatch A ceremonial dinner involving gift giving, sometimes lasting for days.
clan A group of related families.
Iroquois League An alliance among five Iroquois nations.
