| Plate tectonics | the theory that the earth's surface is divided into into a number of plates which float independently over hot liquid rock, forming new land patterns and causing earthquakes |
| Climate | the average weather of a place over a period of 20-30 years |
| Vegetation | plant life that lives in a area |
| Culture | the customs, ideas, beliefs, and skills of a people |
| Physical geography | the study of a land and its features |
| Globe | learning about people and their ways |
| Relief | the most accurate 'picture' of the earth , it is sphere with a map of earth printed on it |

| Political Map | a map that highlights many of the natural features of a place, such as a mountains , plains , rivers , and lakes by using color |
