| era | a period of time that is associated with a particular person ,event, or quality. |
| landform | shapes and types of land. |
| plate tectonics | the theory that the Earth's surface is divided into a number of plates which float independently over hot liquid rock, forming new land patterns and causing earthquakes |
| climate | the average weather of a place over a period of 20-30 years . |
| vegetation | plant life that grows in area |
| culture | the customs,ideas,beliefs, and skills of a people |
| physical geography | the study of a land and it features |
| human geography | learning about people and their ways |
| globe | the most accurate "picture" of earth it is a sphere with a map of earth printed on it |
| relief | a change in elevation |
| physical map | a map that highlights many of the natural feature of a place such as mountains, plains, rivers, and lakes by using color and shading |
