Abbreviations for medical terminology

TermDefinition
CCU Coronary Care Unit
I/O Intake/ Output. Amount of fluids by mouth or IV( intake)/ amount of fluids discharged out of the body by urine (outtake)
DDX Differential diagnosis. A list of possible conditions that share the same symptoms that the patient is experiencing.
PERRLA Pupils are equal, round and reactive to light and accommodation.
CTA Clear to ausculation
WDWN Well developed, well nourished
IM Intramuscular (into the muscle)
SC Subcutaneous (under the skin)
QHS At night
QID 4 times daily
