| capital resources | tools, buildings, and machinery used to make goods or provide services |
| consumer | someone who buys things |
| goods | physical things that people and businesses can buy and sell |
| human resources | workers who make goods or provide services |
| needs | the things you must have to live |
| producer | someone who makes goods or services available to consumers |
| profit | the money left over after paying the business expenses |
| scarcity | the gap between what consumers want and what is available |
| services | activities and actions that people do for others |
| surplus | more available goods than consumers want |
| wants | things we would like to have but don’t need to have to live |
