How is a fable part of an oral tradition? A fable is a short story that teaches a lesson. A fable is an example of the oral tradition because it can be passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, as was the case for Aesop's fables.
Why was Mount Olympus important to the Greeks? Mount Olympus was important because it was the home of their 12 most important gods and goddess.
What epic included the story of the Trojan horse? The Iliad included the story of the trojan horse.
What two types of drama did the Greeks create? How do they differ? The Ancient Greeks created comedy and tragedy. In a tragedy, someone tries but fails to overcome hardships; the story has a tragic or sad ending. In contrast, a comedy is a story with funny parts and a happy conclusion.
Why are some computer viruses called Trojan horses? Trojan horse viruses are put in a computer in a sneaky way to cause harm. This process is similar to the way the original trojan horse was out in troy in a deceitful way to destroy the city.
Why did the ancient Greeks seek advice from oracles? They believed the oracles would speak for the gods, see into the future, and give wise advice.
How did the Greeks design their buildings? They used a mathematical formula that helped them design with attractive proportions.
Which God or goddess protected the city of Athens? Athena
How were Athena and Hera related? As the sister and wife of Zeus, Athenas father, Hera was Athenas aunt. Athena was Heras niece.
Why were temples the most important buildings in Greek city-states? The temples were the most important buildings in Greek city-states because they were sacred due to the rooms and statues being mostly dedicated to the gods.
