| Price Supports | The maintenance of a price at acertain level through government interaction. instituted through McNary-Haugen Bill. They were put on key products like wheat, corn, cotton, and tobacco. |
| Hawley Smoot Tariff | A law enacted in 1930 that established the highest protective tariff in U.S. history. It worsened the depression at home and abroad, it was designed to protect American farmers and manufacturers from foreign competition but had the opposite effect. |
| Dust Bowl | the region including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico that was made worthless for farming by drought and dust storms during the 1930's. It pushed people further west. |
