What was the cause of the Peloponnesian War? Sparta didn't like that Athens was trying to promote and spread their democracy to other city-states.
What caused Sparta to eventually defeat Athens in the Peloponnesian War? Athens finally surrendered when Sparta cut off their supply of grain.
