Sectionalism Vocabulary

| agriculture | The science or practice of cultivating soil, producing crops, and raising livestock; farming. |
| sectionalism | Loyalty to one’s own region or localized interests, instead of to the country as a whole. |
| aristocracy | The highest class or group of people in a society. |
| rural | Of or relating to the countryside and the people who live there. |
| indentured servant | A person who is bound to work for another for a specified period of time. |
| social class | A broad, hierarchal grouping within society that is based on the roles or economic statuses of its members. |
| industrial | Of or relating to the manufacturing of goods. |
| slavery | A system that treats humans as property with no rights or freedoms. |
| immigrant | A person who moves from one country to live in another country. |
