strike A protest, usually involving a walk-out and refusal to work until a problem is solved
Harry F. Byrd, Sr. A Virginia leader who led the Massive Resistance Movement to stop desegregation
Massive Resistance Movement The policy of Virginia’s government that attempted to resist desegregation of public schools.
"Separate but Equal" The policy during “Jim Crow Laws” that made it legal to segregate students into different schools by stating (falsely) that the schools were equal
