After Penn died in 1737 what did his sons do and what was the document called? They used a false document entitled "Walking Purchase" to claim the Lenape land.
Why was the location of where the Schuyllkill river and Delaware river meet a good spot for what? It was good for a trading port since ships could sail down the Delaware river into the Atlantic Ocean
What did Penn create for a city? A grid of wide tree lined streets with many small parks and gardens. Houses on these streets were made of stone and brick.
German settlers came to live outside Philadelphia to practice what religion? Mennonite
Why was Penn nervous about the land the English King gave him? It had no Atlantic coastline
Who did Penn ask to sell him land in what is now Delaware? Duke of York

How did the "First Great Awakening" get it's name? It awakened strong religious feelings
What was the name of the first newspaper published in New York? The New York Gazette
Who opened a shop in 1728? Benjamin Franklin
What type of shop did Franklin open? A print shop
What is the term used to describe the trade routes between England, Africa, and the America's Triangular Trade
What was the trade designed for? To sell products and pick up cargo at each stop.
What did the ships carry? Guns, cloth, ironware, rum, and enslaved peoples
Which group of traders were responsible for enslaved Africans separated from their family members? European traders
