QuestionAnswer
What is an inauguration? A ceremony in which the president takes oath of office.
What is a precedent? An example to be followed by others in the future.
What is a bond? A certificate issued by a government for an amount of money that the government promises to pay back with interest.
What is a speculator? People who invest in a risky venture in hope of making a large profit.
What is a tariff? A tax on imported goods.
What is a faction? An organized political group.
What is unconstitutional? Contrary to what is permitted by the constitution.
What is an alien? An outsider or someone from another country.
What is sedition? Activity designed to over throw a government.
What does nullify mean? Deprive of legal force.
George Washington? The first president of the United States.
John Adams? A New Englander who had been Washington's vice president.
Alexander Hamilton? He was a federalist and he disliked factions.
Thomas Jefferson? Disliked factions.
James Madison? Considered factions to be selfish/ argued in the federalist papers.
