Xenophobia Fear of foreigners.
W. A. S. P. Refers to a bigot and/or racist.
Migration Movement within a country.
Quota System Allowed a certain number of immigrants into the U.S. based on the census.
Nativism A movement against minority groups.
Naturalization When an immigrant becomes a U. S. citizen.
Immigration Move to a coutry.
Tenement High-rise (apartment) housing for the poor.
Sterotypes Conforming to a fixed general of pattern.
Segregation To separate by ethnic groups or race.
Emigration To leave a country.
Ghetto Section of a city in which minority groups are required to live.
Discrimination To distinguish, to make a distinction because of race.
Assimilation To absorb, to make similar.
