| Vertical Consolidation | A method by which a company gains control of all aspects of production. |
| Collective Bargaining | Workers negotiate as a group with their employer. |

| Union | A group of workers that come together to help improve the workplace. |
| Economy of Scale | Mass production causes price per unit to go down. |
| Robber Barons | Business leaders that makes wealth from stealing from the general public. |
| Carpetbagger | Northerner who moves to the South and votes Republican. |
| Scalawag | Were people from the south that had been locked out of pre-Civil War politics by wealthy neighbors (plantation owners) these individuals were invited into the Republican Party. |
