imperialism a larger country taking over a smaller country's political and economic affairs
assassination the killing of an influential leader in a community
bond a loan to the government
reparations payment for damages caused during a war
armistice a cease fire or stopping of war
civil liberties Individual rights protected by law from unjust governmental or other interference.
stalemate a situation in which further action or progress by opposing or competing parties seems impossible.
propaganda information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view
