Marbury v. Madison Established judicial review which gave the Supreme Court authority to declare acts of Congress unconstitutional
Dartmouth College v. Woodward Ruled that the Constitution protected contracts from state encroachments. It safe guarded business interprise from interfernce by state governments
Worcester v. Georgia Supreme Court regcognized the rights of the Cherokee tribe but Andrew Jackson still removed them from Georgia
Dred Scott v. Sanford Ruled that national legislation could not limit the spread of slavery in the territories. Slaves could not be taken from their masters regardless of the state's slavery status
Plessy v. Ferguson "Seperate but equal" public facilities for African Americans
Korematsu v. United States Ruled that the relocation of Japanese Americans was a wartime necessity
Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka Reversed Plessy v. Ferguson ruling
Baker v. Carr Established principle of "one man, one vote"
Griswold v. Connecticut Prohibited the used of contraceptives, "right to privacy"
Miranda v. Arizonia created "Miranda Rights"
