Ratify | Approving a law. |
Federalist | Favored a strong federal government. |
Anti Federalist | People who opposed the constitution. |
Articles of Confederation | Created a loose alliance of the 13 independent states. |
Popular Sovereignty | States that the people have the right to alter or abolish their government. |
Constitution | the documents that set out the basic laws, principles, organization, and process of a government. |
Amend & Amendment | - to change (a law) - a law |
Veto | Rejecting. |
Separation of Powers | It was designed to keep any person or group from gaining to much power. |
Continental Congress | They drew up plans for a national government. |
Civic | Well-Being of the community. |
Republic | A government in which citizens rule themselves through elected representatives. |
