QuestionAnswer
Sound Created by vibrations that produce waves of energy that move through matter.
Vibration Back and forth movement that causes sound.
Sound wave a longitudinal wave that is caused by vibration traveling through a medium.
Doppler Effect The change in pitch frequency as a sound gets closer to you
Echo A reflected sound wave
Echolocation The finding of an object using reflected sound
Pitch Measures how high or low a sound determined by frequency
Hertz Unit measuring pitch
Decibels Unit measuring loudness
Loudness Measures how much sound can be heard determined by amplitude
Mechanical waves Waves that need a medium to travel sound waves and earthquake waves
