Urban An urban community is one that’s in a city or town: lots of people live there, and there are lots of different kinds of buildings close together.
Suburban A suburb is a place where people live just outside of a city or town. There are lots of houses in suburban areas, but not as many other buildings as urban areas—maybe just one or two small shops or stores.
Rural VA rural community is one with lots of nature and open spaces, with fewer people and buildings than urban or suburban areas
Physical Map Shows landforms and water features. It might show rivers, lakes, oceans, islands, mountains or plains. The colors show different elevation in an area.
What is a canyon? Is a deep and narrow landforms that sometimes has a river running through it.
What is a valley? A low area between mountains or hills.
What is a mountain? Large landform that rises high above the surrounding lands.
What is a plain? A plain is a wide, mostly flat area of land without many trees
What is a plateau? A plateau is an area of raised land or rock that is higher than the land around it
