Step 1 implements that were placed in "to be disinfected" closed container is taken to the dispensary area
Step 2 locate cleaning solution
Step 3 read cleaning solutions manufacturers directions
Step 4 follow manufacturers directions for cleaning solution usage
Step 5 wash implement with warm water and a cleaning solution and scrubbed to remove debris
Step 6 rinse implement
Step 7 dry implement with a clean towel or paper towel
Step 8 locate disinfectant
Step 9 read and follow directions for mixing disinfectant
Step 10 implement is completely immersed in disinfectant solution that is bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal according to the manufacturers directions
Step 11 remove implement from disinfectant solution using manufacturers directions using tongs or gloves
Step 12 rinse implement with hot tap water
Step 13 dry implement with a clean towel or paper towel
Step 14 placed in a clean closed cabinet or container ensuring no other implement or item that has not been disinfected is within the container
