Proclamation a public or official announcement dealing with very important matters
Articles of Confederaion (A.O.C.) America's first written constitution : had many limitations that made running the government difficult
Constitution a document written to outline a country's government
Grievances an official statement of a complaint over something that is believed to be wrong or unfair
Loyalist a colonist who was loyal to England
Patriot a colonist who wanted to become independent from England
Constitutional Convention meeting in Philadelphia in 1787 to rewrite the A.O.C, but the document was scrapped and replaced by the Constitution
Intolerable Acts a group of 5 acts issued by the British Parliament designed to punish Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party
