old kingdom A period in egyptian history that lasted from about 2,700 BC to 2,200 BC

nobles people from rich and powerful families
stele An upright stone slab as a monument
Mummies specially treated bodies wrapped in cloth

obelisk A tall, four sided pillar that is pointed on top
trade network A system of people in different lands who trade goods
vizier The second highest official in ancient egypt serving under the pharaohs, ran the day to day operations
