Overproduction | Creating more of a product than is wanted, needed, or can be sold |
Tariff | A tax on a particular type of import or export |
Speculation | Investing in opportunities with a high risk of loss, but also with the potential for significant financial gain |
Migration | Movement from one place to another |
Repatriation | The process of returning persons to their country of origin or citizenship |
Deportation | The action of removing a foreigner from a country who presence is unlawful or deemed harmful |
Naturalization | Admitting a foreigner to the citizenship of a country |
Literacy | The ability to read and write |
Bank panic | When many depositors simultaneously lose confidence in the banks and demand that their bank deposits be paid to them in cash |
Dust Bowl | An area of Oklahoma, Kansas, and northern Texas affected by severe soil erosion, windstorms, and drought in the 1930s. |
