Geography The study of people, their environments, and their resources
Natural Resource Material humans can take from the environment
Map A Drawing of the earths surface
Globe A round shape object that has the map on it
Map Projection A drawing of a map on a flat surface
Cartographer A person who makes and studies maps
Physical A map that shows natural features like hills or mountians
Population A map that lets you know how many people live in an area
Climate A map that shows the weather over a period of time
Political A map that shows state lines/boundaries
Latitude Lines that run east to west
Longitude Lines that run north to south
Equator The Imaginary line at zero degrees latitude that divides the earth in half
Prime Meridian The imaginary line at zero degrees longitude that divides the earth into east and west
Hemisphere The halves of the earth are known as
Location Exact area something is/something happened
Movement When people move from place to place
Region An area of the world with similar characteristics
Human Environment Interaction How people interact with their environment
Place The physical features or weather of a certain area
Mountains High steep rugged land
Hills Areas of raised land
Plains Areas of level or flat land
Plateaus Areas of large, raised, flat land
Weather The condition of the earths atmosphere
Precipitation The water that falls from the sky
Primary Source A first hand account, detailing something that happened
Secondary Source A secondary account, detailing something that happened
