Why did Spain defeat the Aztecs and Inca? The Spanish soldiers had steel armor and guns, and they rode on horses. The Inca and the Aztecs did not have any of these. The Aztecs and Inca also died of diseases, those from Spain were not affected by these diseases.
Why did Spain settle it's colonies? Most Spanish colonizers were missionaries. They wanted to convert the American Indians to Christianity. Some others were looking for wealth by farming and trading in America. Some others were fleeing - running away - from being persecuted in Spain.
What was the cause and effects of the TransAtlantic Slave trade? Del Las Casas thought African slaves would not die from European diseases (which is what was happening to American Indian slaves). He thought since they did hard farm work in their home countries, they would do well in America. He was wrong, and later he saw that the African slaves suffered just as much as the American Indians.
What were the reasons that the conquistadors came to America? They wanted gold and glory for themselves and for Spain. They wanted to serve their King.
