Logical Fallacies

| What is a logical fallacies? | Common Errors in reasoning that can undermine your argument / Usually there is no evidence to back up their statement |
| Slippery Slope | Premise that if "A" happens then eventually through a series of small steps, you would get to "Z" / Equating "A" and "Z" |
| Hasty Generalization | Rushing to a conclusion before you have all the relevant t facts (ex: saying a class is boring on the first day of school) |
| Post hoc ergo propter hoc | Assumes that if "A" occurred after "B", then "B" must have caused "A" (ex: drinking a water bottle - now sick- the water must have made me sick) |
| Genetic Fallacy | Origins of a person, idea, institute, or theory determine its character nature, worth (ex: dismissing an argument as invalid solely because the person behind it comes from a not-so-prestigious school) |
| Begging the Claim | Writer should prove validated within the claim (ex: Fithly and polluting coal should be banned) |
