| Indigenous | originating in and characteristic of a particular region or country |
| Push-pull factors | describe the reasons that individuals might emigrate from their homes |
| Revolution | radical change in the established order, usually the established government and social institutions. |
| Reformation | the act of changing to a better state or character, way of operating, lifestyle. |
| Innovation | means to improve or to replace something, for example, a process, a product, or a service. |
| Primary Source | an original document or a person who has firsthand knowledge about something. |
| Tradition | customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way. |
| Secondary Source | analyses, interpretations, or descriptions of events or topics taken from firsthand accounts |
| Heretic | someone who believes or teaches something that goes against accepted or official beliefs |
| Reform | make changes in (something, typically a social, political, or economic institution or practice) in order to improve it |
| Cultural Diffusion | the process by which knowledge, innovation, language, or cultural characteristics are spread within or between cultures or communities. |
| Turning Point | a time at which a decisive change in a situation occurs, especially one with beneficial results. |
| Industrialization | the process of a society's transition away from agrarianism and towards industry and manufacturing. |
| Natural Rights | rights, freedoms, and privileges, guaranteed by the nature of existence and being born |
