Design Thinking
Terms relating to Design Thinking
| Term | Definition |

| Assumption | Something that you believe to be true, without proof. |
| Brainstorming | A method design teams use to generate ideas to solve problems. |
| Closed questions | Usually involve a yes/no or one-word answer. |
| Convergent thinking | Thinking that focuses on identifying a single answer to a problem |
| Divergent thinking | Thinking creatively to explore many possible ideas. |
| Empathy | The ability to identify and understand the feelings of another. |
| Interview | To question or talk with someone to get information. |
| Observation | Closely observe or monitor something or someone. |
| Open-ended questions | Questions that cannot be answered with a simple 'yes' or 'no', but require a more detailed explanation. |
| Secondary research | Collect existing research on a topic e.g. from books or the internet. |
| Survey | A list of questions aimed at getting specific data from users. |
| User | The person or group of people who will use the product or service. |
| Validate | Check or prove that something is correct. |
| Bias | Preference for a particular subject or thing. |
| Constraint | Anything that might stop us from moving forward with a particular idea. |
| Ideate | To imagine multiple ideas for solutions to problems, and building on those ideas |
| Prototype | A rough, preliminary version of a product or service that you can show to users and seek feedback. |
| Prototype pitch | A presentation to users about your idea. |
| Storyboard | A series of sketches illustrating a narrative. |
| Wireframe | A basic, 2-D representation of a web page, app interface, or product layout. |
| Failing Fast | Embracing failure, aiming to fail early and often in a project, and using what has been learnt to innovate and improve ideas. |
