What makes a good ruler? A good ruler must be just and he must fear God. A just ruler always does what is right toward people.
What did the early people in Central America know how to do? The first Americans earned ways to grow maize or corn and made it into good food.
What can we learn from early civilizations? People have the ability to do great dood because God created them in His image. But people often do great eveil because they are sinners.
When did Europeans discover the Americas? In 1492 Christopher Columbus was trying to sail around the world but he landed on an island in the Caribbean. These lands were called the New World.
What were explorers looking for in the New World? Gold, fur or other natural resources.
People who came to the New World were called _______________. Colonists
Why did people come to the new world? Some came to find work; some came because they could not worship God the way the Bible taught in their home land.

Why do we need government? People are not naturally good. Government is God's way to keep people from acting wickedly.

Some governments in the American colonies did not always do what pleased God. They were not always just. What did they do that was wrong? They mistreated the Indians and permitted slavery in their colonies.

Who is George Whitefield? He was an English evangelist who traveled to the American colonies. He preached everywhere he went. Many people were saved.

How was slavery in the South unbiblical? Slavery is wrong. It was wrong to buy kidnapped people. It was wrong to make people and their children slaves. They were wrong to mistreat people because of their skin color.
