TermDefinition
Legislative Branch the lawmaking branch of the government; made up of the Senate and House of Representatives
General Assembly the head legislative group in a US State
Ad Hoc Committee committee created for a special purpose
Conference Committee created when the House and Senate writes differing versions of a bill; committee must compromise to make the bill the same
Joint Committee a committee made up of members of the Senate and House
Standing Committee a permanent committee
Bill a formal statement of a proposed new law under consideration by the legislative branch
Tax Revenues money generated for the state through taxes
Non-tax Revenues money generated for the state through means such as fees, the state lottery, and settlement funds
