Sanctions | Economic or other measures, usually applied by several nations together, to force a country to make changes (to follow international law) |

Conscientious Objector | Person who chooses to avoid military service for moral or religious reasons |
Subversive | Wanting to undermine the authority of an institution, usually a government |
