QuestionAnswer
Polytheism This is a belief in more than one god and is followed by Hinduism and Buddhism
Geography Study of people, their environment and their resources
Archeology Study of ways of life of early people through examining their physical remains (what they left behind)
Politics The governmental structures that support rule of regions and large territories
Economics The meeting of basic needs by using the resources, goods and services needed or wanted by a society which focuses on wealth, trade and money
Culture The language, belief system, customs and traditions that a society follows
Primary Source First-hand information about people or events of the past, such as found in a diary, legal document or personal letter
Secondary Source Information from the past that is not based on direct experience (textbook, encyclopedia or biography)
Out of Africa Theory This theory explains where humans first appeared on Earth and how they migrated (moved from one location to another)
Prehistory The long period of time before people invented systems of writing
Artifact Any object from the past made by humans
Nomad People who move from place to place in search of food
Paleolithic Age "Old Stone Age" - a time period of nomadic people who hunted and gathered to locate food
Neolithic New Stone Age" - a time period when people settled and began to farm and herd animals
Increase Population The increase in food surplus led to this (More food = ?)
River Valleys The site of the earliest civilizations due to agriculture needs (Mesopotamia, Shang China and Indus Valley)
Hammurabi's Code This was the first written law code and was developed to provide order
Monotheism This is a belief in one God and is followed by Judaism, Christianity and Islam
