Fallacy Detective Ch 13-21

What is circular reasoning? attempting to prove a conclusion by simply restating it.
We have to learn logic to develop our minds. We need to develop our minds to help us think better. What is circular reasoning?
changing the meaning of a word in the middle of an argument What is equivocation?
The English don't drive on the right side of the road. Why do they drive on the wrong side? What is equivocation?
What is a loaded question? asking one question which assumes the answer to a second question?
Have you stopped beating your poor dog yet? What is a loaded question?
What is Slippery Slope? Assuming that if we take one step, nothing will stop us from taking a series of steps
We can't let her get another chick, or she's going to want goats, too! slippery slope
What is part-to-whole? assuming that what is true about the parts of something must also be true of each of its parts
What is whole-to-part? asserting that what is true of something as a whole must also be true about its parts
Cookies must be high in protein, because they include eggs. And eggs are high in protein. What is part-to-whole?
Cookies are delicious with milk, and they include baking soda. So, baking soda must be delicious with milk. What is whole-to-part?
What is Either-Or? asserting that we must choose between only wo things, when in fact we have more alternatives
You can eat Twizzlers and be happy or not eat Twizzlers and feel left out. What is an either-or fallacy?
