Main Idea What a text is mostly about.
Purpose to Inform The author's goal is to inform readers. They want readers to learn about a certain topic.
Purpose to Entertain The author's goal is to entertain readers. They want their readers to have fun reading.
Purpose to Persuade The author's goal is to persuade readers. They want to convince readers to believe or do something.
Point of View (POV) The perspective a story is told from. Pronouns can help you figure this out.
1st Person POV I, me, my, mine, we, us, our, ours
2nd Person POV You, your, yours
3rd Person POV She, her, hers, he, him, his, they, them, theirs, it, it's
Synonym A word that has the SAME meaning as another word.
Antonym A word that has the OPPOSITE meaning to another word.
