| Boston Tea Party | Most famous act of rebellion against British taxation. Sons of Liberty destroyed property of a certain type to show their disapproval of the tax. |
| Boston Massacre | Redcoats defended themselves against a riotous crowd of Bostonians resulting in 5 killed. Use as propaganda by the Sons of Liberty. |
| Common Sense | Pamphlet written by Thomas Paine encouraging colonials to support the fight for independence. |
| Valley Forge | Winter camp for Washington where he trained his men despite the severe hardship of winter. |
