subsidies a sum of money granted by the state to help an industry or business keep the prices low
coups d'état the sudden, violent overthrow of an existing government by a small group
totalitarianism a system of government that is centralized and led by a dictator, allowing no individual freedom
autarchy an economically self-sufficient state
revolt take violent action to end the authority of a person or government
primacy the fact of being the most important person or thing
Aryan a racial grouping referring to Caucasian, not Jewish, especially having fair hair and blue eyes
armament weapons, especially large guns, bombs, tanks, etc.
purge to remove people from an organization, often violently, because their opinions are unacceptable to the people in power
constitution the system of laws and basic principles that a country is governed by
Reichstag the national parliament of Nazi Germany
